Design is never done

Yesterday I had the chance to read an article by Mike Hughes where he describes how you can get your users to take advantage of the advanced features of a product by designing a strategy of progressive adoption.

In short, the process for successfully promoting an innovation is as follows:

* Tell how it is better than what a user is doing now.
* Demonstrate that it is easy and consistent with what the user already knows or already does.
* Let the user try it in safe, verifiable increments.
